Game & Community Rules
These rules exist to protect the classic Shaiya atmosphere while keeping gameplay fair, stable, and fun on Shaiya Valinor.
Section I
1) Community & Conduct
- Be decent. No harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, doxxing, or targeted toxicity — anywhere: in-game, Discord, or related DMs.
- Keep it competitive, not corrosive. Trash talk is fine; discrimination and stalking are not.
- All official game languages are accepted in-game. English is the preferred lingua franca for messages that concern everyone.
- On Discord, each official language has its own channel. In-game, use party or whisper for other languages when needed.
Section II
2) Transparency & Administration
- There are no GMs. Only the two co-founders administer the game — no intermediaries, no “power games.”
- All decisions that affect gameplay (balance, drops, events) are communicated publicly with changelogs.
- Impersonating an admin or claiming “inside privileges” results in immediate sanctions.
Section III
3) Accounts & Security
- One person = one account owner. Don’t share accounts. You’re responsible for what’s done on yours.
- Selling accounts, characters, or items for real money is prohibited.
- Use strong passwords; items or ranks lost to sharing or negligence will not be restored (case-by-case only with strong proof, at admin discretion).
Section IV
4) Fair Play (Cheating & Exploits)
- Zero tolerance for third-party tools that automate, alter, or reveal hidden data (bots, memory editors, packet injectors, radar, macro abuse beyond QoL keybinds).
- Abusing bugs/exploits: report it; don’t farm it. Gains may be reverted; repeat abuse leads to bans.
- Client or data tampering (models, resources) that changes hitboxes/visibility or gives advantage is forbidden.
Section V
5) Chat, Names & Media
- No obscene/hate names for characters, guilds, shops, or Discord handles. Admins may force-rename.
- Advertising other servers in-game/Discord is not allowed (DMs included).
- Keep streams/clips compliant with these rules; don’t platform harassment.
Section VI
6) PvP Etiquette
- Play hard, play fair. No coordinated grieving meant solely to deny play (e.g., corpse camping a single player indefinitely without objective context).
- No collusion across factions to trade kills, share intel, or fix outcomes; stat-padding is a punishable offence.
- Spawn areas: contest is expected, but systematic spawn-locking for prolonged periods will be moderated (warnings → mutes → suspensions), judged by logs and context.
Section VII
7) Raids, Bosses & Loot
- Open by default. Public world-boss raids must be open; exceptions are limited and time-bound when a boss is out of PvP and under a specific HP threshold (<30%).
- Public/farm raids use Group Loot unless a written rule for that event states otherwise. Private raids are at the raid leader’s discretion but must be announced as private up front.
- Kicking active contributors from public raids to redirect loot is not allowed. Evidence-based violations will be reversed and sanctioned.
- Public bosses: Kimuraku, Seraphim, Dios Exiel, Death Knight and Event bosses including the PVE bosses — Cloron Dragon, Fantasma Dragon, Freezing Mirage, Haruhion, Cryptic Throne bosses and potential event mobs. Minibosses are not considered public and can be soloed or killed privately.
Section VIII
8) Trading & Economy
- Use only in-game trade, auction, or approved Discord channels.
- Scams are punishable when clear evidence shows deception about item identity, enhancement, or payment. Admins may reverse trades with sufficient proof.
- RMT is forbidden (see point 3). Server economy health > short-term gains.
Section IX
9) Evidence, Reports & Appeals
- Reports require clear proof (uncropped screenshots or short clips with timestamps). Framed/edited evidence is a bannable offense.
- Use the #reports ticket; do not conduct public witch-hunts.
- First offense ≠ final offense. Penalties scale with severity and history: warning → mute → temp ban → permanent ban.
- You may appeal once per case with new evidence or a concise statement. Decision is final after review by both admins.
Section X
10) Discord-Specific
- Follow Discord ToS. No NSFW in public spaces.
- Keep channels on topic.
- Don’t ping admins repeatedly; use tickets for anything requiring action.
Final
11) Final Notes
These rules exist to protect the old-school atmosphere while keeping the experience fair, fresh, and fun.
We reserve the right to act in obvious bad-faith edge cases not covered above. When we do, we’ll explain the decision publicly — transparency first.
